Assistant Rabbi Position at Chabad of Virginia Headquarters

This one is serious.

Chabad of Virginia was established nearly 50 years ago by Rabbi Yankel and Fay Kranz. In 1991, after appointing his eldest son Rabbi Yossel Kranz to succeed him, Rabbi Yankel Kranz passed away at the early age of 50.

BH, Chabad of Virginia has grown tremendously since then with many added moisdos and considerable growth in the city of Richmond proper. Schools were added, a Mikvah was built, the Shul was expanded, and new departments such as Friendship Circle and JLI became some of the most successful in the country.

Our Chabad Community Synagogue has also become one of the fastest growing Shuls in Richmond. With many members, a cemetery, classes, programming, pastoral care, and more, we need an assistant Rabbi.

Responsibilities include:

1. Pastoral Care: Providing emotional and spiritual support to congregants, including counseling, visiting the sick, and assisting with lifecycle events (weddings, funerals, bar/bat mitzvahs).

3. Assisting in Services: Participating in davening, delivering sermons, and helping to lead and organize Shabbos and Holiday youth programs.
